The new Surf City bridge was opened to the public on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. The 65-foot-tall, $53 million bridge replaces Surf City’s historic swing bridge, which broke down in 2017 affecting traffic and the local economy. The new bridge offers a pedestrian walking lane, which can become a traffic lane for emergency situations.
